Trust
Sophisticated investors trust transparency over polish. This page is how Atlas earns it. Everything below is current as of April 2026; if it goes stale, ping us.
Atlas is built and operated by a single founder, Matt Shippey, in public. There is no team page because there is no team — yet. That is a feature, not a bug: every product decision is made by someone who actually uses the tool to manage his own portfolio at Merrill Edge.
The company is fully bootstrapped. No outside capital, no growth-at-all-costs incentives, no pressure to ship features that look good in a deck but make the product worse. Atlas will be profitable on subscription revenue or it will not exist — there is no third option where it gets sold to a brokerage and your data goes with it.
We do not sell, share, or rent your data to anyone. Ever. The full policy lives at /privacy.
Atlas is not a broker-dealer, not a registered investment adviser, and not a custodian of your assets. It is a read-only analytics layer over data you upload. We cannot place trades, transfer money, or access your brokerage. Tools that calculate tax, RMDs, or options pricing are observational — outputs of math on your assumptions, not advice.
See the full disclaimer.
Subscription revenue, period. We do not take payment for order flow, sell research to issuers, accept inducements from fund companies, or run affiliate links to brokerages. The customer is the customer.
The pricing logic is on /value: one avoided wash sale or one well-timed harvest pays for the subscription many times over. If it doesn’t, you should cancel.
